WomenCAN International is dedicated to the equality of men and women in our sport and also to equality between canoe and kayak (single blade and double blade). We believe in order to best represent our sport at the Olympics, it is necessary to augment the event and athlete quotas to accommodate the inclusion of women’s canoe in both disciplines (sprint and slalom) and to achieve a balance between canoe and kayak events.

We seek equal events between men and women, and canoe and kayak. Our sport began in the Olympics as exhibition in 1924 – with 3 men’s sprint kayak events and 3 men’s sprint canoe events. Our sport now has 12 total sprint events (9 kayak, 3 canoe, and no women’s canoe), and 4 total slalom events (2 kayak and 2 canoe, but no women’s canoe).   With your help, WomenCAN Realize The Dream – 2016!
